For this blog tour, I made the Halftime Hoodie. This is a unisex hoodie that sews up quickly and looks very nice on. It is available in a wide range of sizes from 2-18. The Halftime Hoodie includes the following options, hood or crewneck, regular or thumbhole cuffs, optional grommets or buttonholes for hood tie, and a kangaroo pocket. It wouldn’t be hard to hack inseam pockets on this one. I will have to try that when I make my own hoodie!
For my daughter’s Halftime Hoodie, I went with regular cuffs, and a lined hood. The instructions were straightforward and I had no issues whipping this hoodie up.
My daughter loves it so much that she requested another one with a kangaroo pocket. My girl loves pockets in everything. I get fussed a lot if I don’t add pockets to my children’s clothing.
My daughter also loves cats so when I found this fleece cat fabric at my local Wal-Mart, I knew it would be perfect for this hoodie. Now she will be the sweetest cat lady every time she wears it.
I had such a good time making this. It was a quick sew and I love anything that has cuffs and bands so that I don’t have to hem. I don’t mind hemming but for me it takes longer (only by about 5 or so minutes) since I have to convert my serger to coverstitch mode.
